PANELS 1 and 2 make up a thin top row. Panel 3 is a ¾ page splash.

1. NICK FURY stands onboard the Shield Helcarrier. He has his back to us his head down. He has reached a point he had hoped wouldn’t come.

2. Same as 1. But we pull back slightly we now see a heavily armed SHIELD GUARD facing us. NICK FURY has turned his head slightly to look at the GUARD.

         NICK FURY: Open the hatch. We need to talk.

3. We pull really far back. NICK FURY stands just off centre of the page outside a huge metal door. The door dwarfs him and the two SHIELD GUARDS stationed outside. A small section of the door at head height has been slid open and we can make out the face of Doctor Bruce Banner behind it. He looks nerves and his forehead is sweaty.

        BANNER: Please. I don’t think I can do this. I can’t control it.

        NICK FURY: Banner you’re the only one left who can stop this.

NICK FURY: It’s time to let the world see your other side. It’s time for the Hulk to be a hero.

Hulk -Destroyer Of Worlds- Dan Hill

Like a few of the characters in the Avengers, Hulk isn't someone I've really read a great deal of (though I love Loeb's Grey). So, I went for the zany.

Page One

Panel One

Letterbox panel. It’s early morning and we’re looking out of over the New Mexico desert, the sun high in the sky.

ROBERT (CAPTION): General, I’m not exaggerating when I say that what you’re going to see here will change everything--

ROBERT (CAPTION): --the radiance of a thousand suns.

VOICE (CAPTION): Five...

Panel Two
Cut to a close up focusing on the breast of a General's uniform.

GENERAL: God help us all if we’re wrong.

VOICE (CAPTION): Four...

Panel Three
We cut back to the desert. In the distance a FIGURE has materialized as if from nowhere, walking towards us through the heat haze. We can’t make out their features, but whoever it is looks big.

VOICE (CAPTION): Three...

ROBERT(CAPTION): Wait!-- I said wait-- Sam, stop the damn countdown.

ROBERT (CAPTION): What is that?

Panel Four
The figure continues to approach. Their features are still indistinct but we can make out the infamous green and purple.

ROBERT (CAPTION): Is that a man? There’s a man out there!

COMPUTER READOUT (CAPTION): Username: MrFantastic

COMPUTER READOUT (CAPTION): Requesting Operational Log...

COMPUTER READOUT (CAPTION): ...Processing...

Panel Five
Cut back to a medium shot of the General-- more specifically BRIGADIER GENERAL THOMAS FARRELL (/wiki/File_Groves_and_Farrel.webp).

He turns to the man next to him, one ROBERT OPPENHEIMER, and points towards us.

GENERAL: Oppenheimer--

COMPUTER READOUT (CAPTION): Unauthorised use of Timebridge at 06:00

COMPUTER READOUT (CAPTION): DNA Analysis of perpetrator...

Panel Six
Letterbox panel. Cut to the desert again, this time looking forward towards a concrete bunker. The HULK's right leg stands firmly in front of the bunker in the foreground of the left side of the panel.

GENERAL: --what is that thing?

COMPUTER READOUT (CAPTION): Result found: Dr Bruce BANNER.

REED RICHARDS (CAPTION): Bruce, what the hell are you doing?

CAPTION: July 16 1945, Jornada del Muerto desert, New Mexico.

The Incredible Hulk – Clash of the Juggernauts – MK Stangeland Jr.

(Setting: Somewhere in a remote portion of the Himalayas. The current weather conditions are snowy, and it is dark out. Aside from what’s taking place in the panels, it’s rather picturesque.)

Panel 1: Long panel stretching across the page. Landscape shot.

SFX: (Should be small, to indicate it’s taking place far off in the distance.) wump

Panel 2: Identical to the previous panel.

SFX: *Jump!*

Panel 3: Identical to the previous panel.

Panel 4: Identical to the previous panel, aside from JUGGERNAUT COLOSSUS (J-COLOSSUS) landing in the foreground in a massive crash.

SFX: KRUSHchhhhhssssss

Panel 5: Hulk lands near the crater caused by J-COLOSSUS’s landing.

SFX: WUMP-FfH!

Panel 6: J-COLOSSUS leaps out the crater. His arm is cranked back and ready to swing at HULK once he closes the distance. His eyes are glowing with a red energy, and his Word Balloon should have an irregular boarder and a red tint to confirm that it is CYTTORAK, not COLOSSUS, who is in control of his body.

J-COLOSSUS: YES! FIGHT ME!

(Juggernaut: Noun; A huge, powerful, and overwhelming force or institution; A juggernaut, in colloquial English usage, is a literal or metaphorical force regarded as mercilessly destructive and unstoppable.

I briefly considered calling this ‘Clash of the Titans’ instead, but it seemed like that title would be better served for a different story.)

Three rows of panels. First row has 2 panels, second row has 3, and the third row has two again. Panels 1 and 7 are smaller than their row counterparts (2 and 6, respectively).

1 – Clint and Natasha are ready to help the Hulk out of his clockwork-battering. Clint has an arrow nocked and drawn back. Natasha has one of her wrist things ready and aimed. Clint wears a smug grin; Natasha, an annoyed expression.

HAWKEYE: I told you it was serious!

BLACK WIDOW: Shut up, Clint. Let's just lend him a hand, alright?

2 – The Hulk grabs the two clockwork monsters by the back of their “necks”, one in each hand. His arms are spread apart and he is preparing to bash them together. He is pretty darn angry looking.

HULK: HULK!

3 – The Hulk smashes the two clockwork monsters into each other. They crunch into each other with a ton of force. Feel free to have clockwork parts flying all over the place. The Hulk is smashing his foes around chest level or lower, leaving his face visible to the reader. Hulk looks slightly angrier than the previous panel.

HULK: NO!

SFX: KKRSH!

4 – The clockwork monsters are pretty well out of commission, but the Hulk delivers an enormous kick to one of them, sending it flying and ripping it apart. He's getting angrier.

HULK: NEED!

SFX: KRRKK!

5 – The Hulk delivers a shattering uppercut to the remaining clockwork monster, sending its head flying off, rock 'em sock 'em robot-style. He's at his angriest thus far.

HULK: HAND!

SFX: SNAP!

6 – The Hulk has pretty much spent the last of his energy reserves to deliver those blows. His hands are at his sides and he's pretty much entirely out of gas. Breathing heavily, the Hulk is actually shrinking down to his Bruce Banner alter-ego (do that entire switch back in this panel, drawing the “ghost” images of Hulk and the mid-transformation).

HULK: *gasp* *gasp*

7 – Repeat the first panel. The only change is that both Clint and Natasha now wear expressions that are somewhere between dumbfounded and stunned.

HAWKEYE: Oh.

BLACK WIDOW: Well then.

The Hulk - Oxymoron - Rol Hirst

This story takes place during the classic “Hulk smash” Hulk days when Hulk was a sometime member of the Defenders. Previous to this page, the non-team (consisting of Dr. Strange, Submariner, Nighthawk and Valkyrie) have arrived to ask Hulk’s help against some big, weird, Universe-threatening menace. But Hulk is tired. He doesn’t want to help them. Reluctantly, the Defenders depart to deal with the menace on their own.

Panel One.

Hulk is left alone in the forest where the Defenders found him, sitting cross-legged at the side of a lake. He looks back into an empty clearing where moments ago the non-team were standing.

Hulk: Good. Fish Man, Sword Girl, Bird Nose and Dumb Magician have gone. Left Hulk alone.

Panel Two.

Hulk stares at his reflection in the water.

Hulk: When will they understand? Hulk doesn’t want to fight. Hulk just wants to be left alone.

Panel Three.

The reflection in the water begins to change. As Hulk calms, he fades back to Banner. This is a mid-transformation image: Bill Bixby with the prosthetic forehead, green fading to grey.

Hulk: Maybe then, Hulk will finally be…

Panel Four.

The reflection changes again. It’s almost completely Banner now. He looks sad.

Banner: …happy.

Panel Five.

Long shot of Banner, still sitting at the lakeside in the tattered remains of his Hulked-out clothes. He does not move, just stares into the rippling water.

1. A very large panel. Hulk stands after battle, breathing heavy, looking like a boxer in the final throes of defeat. Around him stands the rubble of a city street. Go crazy with the scope of the destruction.

2. Hulk is in the same pose but we see cracks forming up his clenched left arm. It looks like a piece of glass when it breaks.

Hulk: Hulk...

3. Hulk is now crumbling. I'm thinking like that famous Scarlet Witch cover where she's being disassembled but here gravity is bringing Hulk down. Feel free to zoom in as you please or have more of Hulk smashing in this panel.

1. The Hulk is huddled over in pain, both hands covering his ears.

CAPTION: 1 minute ago.

HULK

No...Hulk...strongest..there is..

VOICE (off panel – these bubbles should have a hypnotic look to them. Magic is being used.)

Physically, yes. But when it comes to brains you stupid brute...

2. A wider version of Panel 1. We can see Bruce Banner standing opposite the doubled over Hulk. His eyes are slightly glowing green.

BANNER

I am the strongest there is.

3. A close up of Banner’s face. He is smirking, fiendishly. His pupils are glowing a brighter green now.

BANNER

Tell me Hulk, do your big muscles stop the pain of being unloved?

Every person on this planet fears you. Even I, your creator wise that you would cease to exists.

HULK

Grr....

4. A close up of the Hulk’s face. He is trying hard to block out the words.

BANNER (off panel)

Don’t you think it would be better to go now. To be –

5. An arrow has flown through Banner, who has faded slightly, showing us that he is nearly an illusion. It has struck Hulk in the leg. The ensuing pain has snapped Hulk out of the trance he has been under.

HULK

RAGH!

BANNER (hypnotic bubble faded as much as the Banner illusion)

6. A shot of Hawkeye, having just fired the bow.

HAWKEYE

Oh boy.

7. A close up of hulk’s eye. He is angry.

HULK

Why Hulk?

Because Hulk is the strongest there is!
