Wonder Woman - Day of the Deathmatch - Niel Jacoby

Panel 1: Wonder Woman, in her modern, pantsed(or whatever means "including pants", because I can't think of a good word for that that doesn't end up meaning the exact opposite) attire, stands before Charon, who is standing in his ferry. Charon, who should resemble a sort of Dia De Muertos skeleton in a dark, hooded robe, is trying to explain something, while Diana looks, aggravated, at someone behind her off-panel. Diana is holding a coin out to Charon.

Charon: NO, NO, I DON'T GET THE COIN UP FRONT, IT GOES IN YOUR MOUTH ON THE WAY ACROSS, AND I GET IT WHEN WE REACH THE OTHER SIDE. I KNOW IT'S GROSS, I DON'T LIKE TOUCHING DEAD PEOPLE DROOL ANYMORE THAN YOU, BUT IT'S TRADI- HEY! LISTEN! HEY! I'M NOT GIVING THIS SPIEL AGAIN!

Kratos(OP): DAUGHTER OF HIPPOLYTA, I WILL BLEED OUT INTO THE CLAY OF HADES BEFORE I LET YOU BRING YOUR MOTHER BACK TO THE LAND OF THE LIVING.

Panel 2: Wonder Woman has turned to face Kratos, who we can now see, and has begun to draw her sword. Kratos has his weapons at the ready already. We can see Diana's face, and she is ticked off.

Diana: AND I WOULD SEE YOU DIE BY MY HAND BEFORE I WOULD PAY ANY MIND AS TO WHAT YOU WOULD LET ME DO.

Panel 3: Kratos and Diana begin to fight as Charon places a tarp on his ferry to keep blood off it. Ferries aren't cheap, you know.

Diana: GRRAAAH!
Kratos: HYRRRUGH!

Wonder Woman - Nothing But The Truth - J.D. Coughlan

Panel 1: Wide panel. Wonder Woman stands before the United Nations Security Council. She is calm, professional, serious.

DIANA: I came to Man's World all those years ago with a simple mission...

DIANA: World peace.

DIANA: And while I have used almost every weapon and tool at my disposal to strive towards this goal -- whether by sword and strength or by diplomacy and reason -- there is one I have neglected the full use of.

Panel 2: Flashback. A dirty cave acting as a hideout. Wonder Woman has a Middle Eastern terrorist leader tied up in her golden lasso. She is angry. He looks defeated.

DIANA (CAP): I am sure you have all heard what happened in Qurac...

DIANA: Tell me -- Tell us all why you founded this terrorist cell! Why you kill hundreds of innocents!

Panel 3: Flashback continued. Close on the terrorist leader. He looks down shamefully.

LEADER: I... It's not even about religion... I just want the power... To make people do what I say...

DIANA (CAP): I did it to demoralise him and his followers, but it occurred to me...

Panel 4: Present again. Close on Diana. As before, but slightly more melancholy.

DIANA: I am used to wars of honour. Fought for purpose. But there are so many in Man's World who simply use violence to further their own agendas.

DIANA: And so, I shall be using the greatest weapon in my arsenal -- Truth -- much more often in future.

Panel 5: Close on the members of the Security Council, looking slightly worried.

DIANA (O.P.): Starting with my allies.

1. Int a holding cell in Arkham Asylum. BATMAN sits across a stainless steel table from The Riddler.

The Riddler has his hands tided behind his back. His head tilted to one side a gleeful smile spread across his face.

RIDDLER: Oh my dear Bats, I never expected you to be so stumped.

RIDDLER: It’s a shame you can’t play the hero, instead you’re just a chump.

2. Tight shot on the thick cell door.

SFX: Knock knock.

3. Close up on the Riddler. His head now up straight, his face has narrowed, he’s annoyed, mad even. His smile has vanished.

RIDDLER: An uninvited quest to our private party?

RIDDLER: This is a game for just us two.

4. Cut to a close up on Batman.

BATMAN: Enough of the games Nigma.

5. Batman has opened the cell door. Standing in the doorway is DIANA PRINCE (Wonder Woman)

Diana is wearing a smart and fashionable pantsuit. The suit is black, but her blouse and heels are a deep shade of red. She holds her hands together in front of her; her lasso hangs between her hands.

BATMAN: It’s time for the truth.

Wonder Woman – Messing With the Classics – MK Stangeland Jr.

(2 Panels)

Panel 1: Splash Page! WONDER WOMAN is hunched over and holding a massive greek-style stone column on her back (This type of thing, for reference). She’s tied to the column with her LASSO OF TRUTH, keeping her arms and waist bound to it.

WONDER WOMAN looks ticked off, but the entire image should NOT be one of WONDER WOMAN being helpless, but rather one suggesting she’s about to put the hurt on, as she was previously tied to the column while it was still standing and has since pulled the column out of position but not yet freed herself from her lasso.

Standing at the ‘top’ end of the column are two faceless soldiers who are nonetheless surprised by this turn of events, and aren’t quite sure how to respond.

WONDER WOMAN: So is one of you going to be a gentleman and untie me?

Panel 2: Close up on WONDER WOMAN’s face.

WONDER WOMAN: Or do I need to start getting violent now?

Wonder Woman -The Automatons of Salto Angel -Dan Hill

Apologies for the late posting on this. It was a whole thing.

PAGE 1

Panel 1
Wide. We’re looking through a pair of binoculars, peering down into a jungle clearing.

Wherever the observer is, it’s high up. The clearing is teeming with GERMAN SOLDIERS (circa WW2) setting up a large camp and constructing a building of some kind. Swathes of trees and fauna have been cut down to make way for whatever it is they’re building.

VOICE:                This doesn’t look good.

VOICE:                I’m guessing there’s at least eighty, maybe a hundred men down there.

VOICE:                God help us if they find what they’re looking for. Are you getting this down?

Panel 2
Cut to a close up on a grim-faced CARTER HALL, facing us, as he lowers the binoculars slightly. He’s dressed in jungle fatigues.

CARTER:                You’re not even listening, are you?

Panel 3
Zoom out to see WONDER WOMAN approaching Carter. We can just about make out that we’re on a peak of some kind, a mountain maybe?

WONDER WOMAN:            No.

Panel 4
Wide. We are looking up at the magnificent vista of the Angel Falls in Venezuela. The water gushes down towards us.

Reference: /wiki/File_SaltoAngel4.webp

WONDER WOMAN:            Not with this view.

CAPTION:                Angel Falls, Venezuela, 1942.

WONDER WOMAN:            Besides...

Panel 5
Profile shot. CARTER, on the left of the panel, stands stern faced. He’s looking up slightly at WONDER WOMAN, on the right of the panel, as she smiles playfully.

The panel cuts off at their waist and blue sky stretches out behind them both.

WONDER WOMAN:            I’m not your secretary, Carter.

WONDER WOMAN:            Come on...

Panel 6
Fixed panel. WONDER WOMAN falls backwards, the smile still on her face.

WONDER WOMAN:            Let’s go get our hands dirty.

Panel 7
Wide. A panel dedicated to the credits panel and the story title presented in a manner befitting all things pulp.

Title: Wonder Woman and Hawkman Versus the Automatons of Salto Angel.

Wonder Woman - Reminders - Grant McLaughlin

This is most definitely set in the old DCU.  Diana and Cassie have been challenged by a group of gods to a great battle and have but a short while to ready themselves.  While they've been training and preparing, today they are walking through the Mall in Washington D.C. on a beautiful summer day.  They are far from the only people taking advantage of this weather.

1 - Diana and Cassie walk along the Mall wearing civilian clothing.  Diana looks calm and content.  Cassie is clearly nervous about the upcoming conflict.

(1) CASSIE: Diana, what are we doing here?  Shouldn't we be getting ready?

(2) DIANA: We are doing just that.

2 - Cassie's nervousness now gains a significant level of confusion.  Diana remains calm, gesturing and pointing to the people around them.

(3) CASSIE: Sorry?

(4) DIANA: Look around, Cassie.

3+ - Have a number of panels of people enjoying the day.  People playing catch, people being in love, people walking their dogs, families doing family things together, and the like.  Have as many of these as you think necessary.  The goal here is to show people being happy and living their lives.  No dialogue is necessary.

[NO COPY]

X - Final panel.  Maybe wide.  Return to Diana and Cassie.  Diana is happy, Cassie finally understands what they're doing there.

(5) DIANA: When going into any battle it is important to be physically prepared, but it is just as valuable to remember what exactly you are fighting for.

Wonder Woman - The Cosplay Effect - Ben Rosenthal.

1.  A title running across the top of the page.  It reads:

The Cosplay Effect.

2.  A plain looking girl in glasses with black hair is battling the hordes at a comic convention.  She is being ignored by the plethora of smelly nerds, one even bumping into her and not noticing.

GIRL
Ow.

3.  The same girl is now at a very similar looking convention with the same nerds in attendance.  However she is now dressed as Wonder Woman.  All of the nerds are now gazing upon her, taking photos and ensuring they are standing out of her way.  One is even passing out.

CAPTION

Panel 1 - Through binoculars, we see the front gates of Birkenau concentration camp wide open.  Soviet Red Army soldiers are leading the emaciated women, starving and cold, out of the camp, and transporting more in trucks.

CAPTION:  January 27, 1945

NAZI 1:  (off panel) Die Russen nehmen die restlichen Frauen nun, Kommandant.

Panel 2 - Lying on their stomachs on the snowy ground atop a nearby hillside, SS soldiers look through binoculars and down rifle sights.  The KOMMANDANT stands hands clasped behind him, steam from his nostrils in the winter air.  Two Nazi soldiers stand at his flanks.

KOMMANDANT:  Alle für uns beendet ist, fürchte ich. Wenn alles klar ist, werden wir von dieser Position zu den Farmen im Norden zu bewegen.

Panel 3 - From above and behind the KOMMANDANT and his soldiers, a feminine shadow falls upon them.  One of the flank soldiers notices in fear.

KOMMANDANT:  Bereiten Sie sich auf mein Kommando zurück...

NAZI 2:  Kommandant! Schauen Sie!

Panel 4 - Foreground, the Kommandant, SS, and other Nazis turn around in surprise.  Before them, WONDER WOMAN stands ankle deep in the snow.  One hand holds a Thompson machine gun, the other holds an Amazon war axe.  Her hair partially obscures her furious face due to the blowing wind and snow.  She is poised for battle, angry as hell, hungry for blood.

WONDER WOMAN:  No man shall die by my hand today.

WONDER WOMAN:  Beasts and monsters, however...

Why Wonder Woman?

Well, it goes like this...a young boy in the mid 1970's, flipping through comics while his parents channel flip, when THIS comes on:
Mind blown.
Keep in mind, this was before Christopher Reeve was my silver-screen Superman.  This was before Bill Bixby turned into Lou Ferigno on The Incredible Hulk.  (Which, by the way, fill out my 70's childhood triumverate.)  And for many other kids like me, Lynda Carter WAS Wonder Woman.

She'd be better than who's in office now...
Wonder Woman was originally created by a man named William Moulton Marston.  He wasn't some kid fresh off the streets trying to make it in the pulps; he was a PSYCHOLOGIST, who studied the physiological effects of lying (so, yes, Virginia, that golden lasso idea eventually led him to invent the first lie detector).  Under his pen, she wasn't one of your four-color chippies.  She was as complex as the mythology that inspired her.

She's an Amazon warrior fighting for peace, a princess that seeks out fair justice.  Her depiction as equal to her male counterparts, both going toe-to-toe with Superman and as Diana Prince, a capable woman in the U.S. military of WWII, led her to become a powerful symbol of feminism in the 1960's and 70's, as well as one of women's rights around the world.

New 52 WW.
And yet, in spite of the fact that so many WONDERful writers have penned her adventures, such as Gail Simone and Greg Rucka, when you're asked to list DC's big guns, she's always listed third, behind a certain man of steel and another dark knight.  But, when the New 52 relaunched, Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang gave Diana the kind of story and respect she deserved, fully embracing mythology by twisting it, and creating something bravely new.

If you're a first time visitor to our site, please feel free to write a page in the comments below.  And in answer to the above question:  Why Wonder Woman?

CAPTION:  It was a dark and stormy night.

Panel 2 - Crime Alley.  THOMAS WAYNE steps in front of his wife MARTHA and young son BRUCE, as JOE CHILL shoots him in the stomach.

CAPTION:  Suddenly, a shot rang out!

Panel 3 - GREEN ARROW kicks open a door, arrow nocked in his bow, as BLACK CANARY lets loose a sonic scream, blowing everything back.

CAPTION - A door slammed. The maid screamed.

Panel 4 - PSYCHO-PIRATE on a Carnival cruise ship, laughing as everyone panics.  WONDER WOMAN swings in from behind from her golden lasso.

CAPTION:  Suddenly, a pirate ship appeared on the horizon!

CAPTION:  While millions of people were starving, the king lived in luxury.
